Joomla!: use LiveChat in your store

Contact your customers in real time by placing a live chat function on your Joomla!-powered site.

If you are using an older version of Joomla!, we have a plugin available for the 1.5 version.

Installation

Follow these guidelines to install LiveChat on your Joomla! page:

  1. Download the LiveChat extension for Joomla!.
  2. In Joomla!, go to Extensions and proceed to the Extensions manager.

  1. Choose the downloaded extension and click Upload and install.
  2. When the installation is complete, go to Extensions section and select Module manager.
  3. Find the newly installed LiveChat module and access it.
  4. Name the module and select its position.

  1. Next, choose to have the extension Published and to display it On all pages.
  2. Get your LiveChat license number from the Code section by copying the highlighted bit. Enter it in the License number field in Joomla!.

  1. Finalize the installation by selecting Save.

Congratulations! You can now start chatting with your visitors using on of the available LiveChat applications.

You can hide the extra chat button in the LiveChat module’s settings screen. Simply select the No option in the Show chat button section (it is set to display the extra button by default).

Installation instructions for the old UI

Go through the following instructions to install LiveChat for an older version of the plugin:

  1. Download the old LiveChat plugin (v.1.5).
  2. In Joomla!, go to Extensions and proceed to the Extensions manager.
  3. Click on the Choose File button, select the LiveChat plugin and click on the Upload & Install button.

  1. When the installation is complete, go to Extensions section, select Module manager and search for the LiveChat plugin.

  1. Find the newly installed LiveChat module and access it.
  2. Name the module and select its position to position-7.

  1. You also need to provide your license number and skill (group).
  2. To get your license number, go to the Code section and copy the highlighted bit.

  1. If you want to send the chats only to a specific group of agents, enter that group’s number in the Skill field.
  2. You can hide the additional chat button as it will be displayed on all your pages as an embedded chat window.
  3. Click on the Save button to finalize.
