Managing the subscription

Subscription set up

Setting up a subscription after your LiveChat trial is over is very simple. All you need is a few minutes and a credit card.

To set up or renew your LiveChat subscription, go to the Subscription section. Choose a plan that fits you and decide on the number of agent seats.

The total number of seats means how many agents can log in at once. You can choose a fixed number of seats or enable the flexible pricing option that will automatically upgrade your number of seats based on your usage.

Next, select the billing cycle, either monthly or yearly. The yearly subscription will save you 15% of your total payment. Whichever you choose, you’ll be billed automatically on every last day of your subscription period until you cancel your LiveChat account.

To choose the billing cycle, click on one of the available options: Monthly or Annual.

Click Subscribe now to continue to the payment page where you’ll be asked to provide your credit card and billing details. When done, click Confirm subscription.

All payments are in US Dollars (USD). If you try to pay in another currency, your bank will automatically convert the payment to US Dollars.

Please note that we accept the following Credit Cards:
Visa, MasterCard, American Express (Discover), Diners Club, JCB.

Modifying your subscription

The Owner of the account can add more agent seats, adjust the billing cycle and make other subscription-related changes whenever needed. The owner can also pass the account ownership and assign any admin as the owner.

To make any of the above changes you’ll want to pop over to the subscription section. From there you can modify the following:

  1. Go to the Subscription section.
  2. Change the number of concurrent agent seats.

Upgrading subscription

Changing your LiveChat plan

You may want to upgrade your plan to get access to different sets of LiveChat features. Depending on the size and type of your business, you can choose one of the four available plans:

  1. Starter ($19 per seat/month) – for smaller companies and startups
  2. Team ($39 per seat/month) – for dedicated support team
  3. Business ($59 per seat/month) – for big customer service departments
  4. Enterprise ($149 per seat/month) – for corporate clients, Fortune 500 companies

To change your LiveChat plan, go to the Subscription section and click on the new plan you chose.

Clicking between plans you’ll see what features will be added or lost when selecting a new plan. Once you decide on the plan, confirm your choice by clicking on the Subscribe now button.

Changing your billing cycle

Start by logging in as the owner and follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Subscription section.
  2. Choose if you want to be billed monthly or anually.

You can change your billing cycle whenever needed. If you downgrade from the annual to the monthly cycle, you get a credit for the unused subscription time that goes towards your next payments. If you’re upgrading the cycle, you’ll be billed the difference between the old and new plan.

Flexible pricing

With flexible pricing, the number of agent seats upgrades automatically to cover your current usage. The feature lets you grow without friction and makes your job easier by automating the previously manual process.

After you enable flexible pricing, you won’t have to worry about adding seats manually. All the hassle will be on us. You’ll have more time for your tasks and a full control over your license. We’ll notify you about each added seat and send you your new rates via email.

LiveChat flexible pricing

To enable flexible pricing, head to the Subscription section. You’ll find the option just below your current seat number. Tick the box to turn it on. That’s it. The next time an agent can’t access LiveChat because you hit your max concurrent logins, a seat will be added automatically to let the agent in.

What happens when you downgrade or upgrade your subscription

We understand that your business may experience slower or busier periods when the demand for LiveChat changes. That’s why we give you flexibility to change your plan along the way.

When you upgrade in the middle of your billing cycle, your account will adjust immediately to the new plan, though you won’t be charged the full quoted price, but the prorated credit. You’ll only pay the difference between your old and new plan based on the number of days left in your billing cycle.

Here’s an example. Let’s say you’ve subscribed for 12 months in the Team plan with 4 seats. 9 months later you need to add 2 seats. The price for one seat is $39 and there are 3 months left in your billing cycle, so the total price will be 3 months*(2 seats* $39). You will also keep the 15% discount for the annual subscription.

For downgrades, you’ll be credited the difference in price between your old and new plan also based on the number of days left in your billing cycle. The credit will lessen the total amount for your next LiveChat invoice.

Canceling a subscription
